Karl Lagerfeld, the legendary designer of the French luxury brand Chanel, is a leading player in the fashion industry, known as the "Kaiser Karl".

Though a cool and serious exterior does he have, he is actually every inch of an aliurophile. The fashion designer once said he would marry his cat if it were legal that people could marry animals, which showed his crazy love towards his cat, a Birman cat named Choupette.

An accidental help to look after the Birman for a model established the connection between Lagerfeld, who was revered as Lafayette, and the cat, during which time he grew so attached to her that he refused to give her back when her owner wanted to take her home. From then on, the life of one person with one cat began.

Having been spoiled by Lafayette, Choupette unexpectedly scaled the top of her life through the owner change. Since then, Choupette lived an extraordinary life. The Birman boasts her two personal maids, a hairdresser and a daily activity recorder. Besides, she owns a bodyguard to ensure her safety and a private doctor to have her nails cut weekly. What's more, she shared meals with Lafayette and what she ate were all quality foods, such as high-grade caviar.

Wherever Lafayette went, Choupette could follow him. She enjoyed a jet-set lifestyle, traveling the world at Lagerfeld's side, rather than staying in a pet's suitcase. She would be given a birthday party by Lagerfeld on her birthday, receiving many gifts from famous brands as her plaything, which were pursued by numerous people!

Lafayette is a devoted cat dad to his pampered Choupette, who often went gushing over his "parenting skills" when talking about his darling kitten. He said he got lots of inspiration from Choupette. The luxury fashion house Chanel reportedly put out its spring/summer 2012 haute couture collection inspired by her blue eyes.

At this point, you may think Choupette is just a freeloader?! Then you're wrong. Indeed, she has made a name for herself in the fashion industry, her appearance fee costing highly.

Choupette has tens of thousands of followers on social media! She inspired a capsule makeup line named after herself by Shu Uemura in 2014. In addition, she served as the spokesmodel, posing with Opel, a German automobile brand. Of course, she was photographed by her dad Lafayette, who would not allow her to associate with low-end brands in order to preserve her dignity. She pulled in €3 million through only these two advertisements.

Unfortunately, Lafayette passed away on Feb. 2019, and many wondered what would become of his beloved cat Choupette!

After the death of Lafayette, Choupette's ins showed such a black-and-white photo. After that, her Ins was no longer updated.

Lafayette once said that he wanted to leave all his wealth to Choupette, but that wasn’t allowed by the judge.

After her owner’s death, Choupette was taken care of by her former housekeeper, Franoise Caote. Now she lives in a villa on the outskirts of Paris, living a carefree life!

Lafayette once said that Choupette brought light to his life. Until the end of his life, he wanted to protect the cat. He was childless all his life, giving almost all his love to this cute kitten!

The fashion world will keep running, but the story of Lafayette and Choupette will live forever.
